The five FPL players who could haul in GW7

FPL is well and truly back, and after a chaotic GW6 which saw Brighton, Chelsea and Man City* excel, we head into GW7, which sees a prize FPL game for Man City.

FPL GW7 target Savio celebrates scoring a goal.

But first, a quick look at this week's fixtures.

Manchester City, Spurs and Fulham play the three promoted teams at home, while in-form Brighton host Crystal Palace in the M23 derby. Leeds host Man United in a game they'll have strong hopes of winning, while Arsenal and Liverpool visit Brentford and Forest respectively. An interesting GW7 shapes up, with a few different targets catching the eye.

Stats before GW7

Spurs have recently gone viral for 'dribblecons' - they lock out the top 4 spots for successful dribbles per 90, yet have only scored 3 goals in the league, placing them 20th for goals scored and 19th in the actual table.

This doesn't look great, but they are on the way up, meaning Savio could be a differential savvy managers will look to target. (Sorry about that.) They've averaged 1.59 xG per game across their last couple of games, and with Coventry at home this week, plus Palace and Ipswich at home in the next 5, it seems like the right entry point for him.

Spurs have also shown some defensive promise lately - they're 9th for xG conceded, but in the last four games, only two teams have conceded less xG than them. This makes Van Hecke another inviting differential, combining his attacking ability and threat with the defensive solidity.

Stats before GW7

De Cuyper is already the top-scoring defender in the game, and has risen by 0.6m as well. He's playing out of position as a winger, in place of the injured Kaoru Mitoma, whose return date is still unclear. Meanwhile, Brighton kept 3 clean sheets in their last 3 games, meaning an extra 17 points for him despite not playing as a defender at all.

Crystal Palace, on the other hand, have conceded the most xG in the league. If you are willing to play De Cuyper in GWs 8 and 9, or have a bench spot available, he's really worth a transfer this week. His 35.9% ownership isn't something you want to go against.

Gonzalo has scored one goal this season, but his xG is at 3.0. With fixtures against Hull and Coventry to come, it's the perfect time to jump on.

It's worth noting Arbeola's future is under serious doubt - if he was to be replaced, what would that do for Garcia from an FPL point of view?

But equally, the pressure could push the team to a much-needed victory over Hull.

This one doesn't come without some big risk.

He could easily be benched. He started the last two games, playing 90 at Anfield but only lasting the 45 against PSG. Is that a sign that he starts?

In reality, nobody knows. But if you do go for him, he could easily pick up a 17-pointer, against an Ipswich team yet to keep a clean sheet this season. Only Crystal Palace have conceded more xG than them.
